Try verify files. If you have a patch installed to play on the MY-CN servers you will have to reinstall that after the verify. The verify will check all files and fix them if needed.

If you want to see the error message, you have to install the windows CN language pack.
the message you posted is gibberish becasue you don't have it installed, so noone can tell what it is.

You could install the newest .Net / VC++ runtimes (from the Microsoft site)

I followed the instructions and it simply doesn't work, it's not DirectX that is the problem atleast because I got the game running once, so it's kinda wierd..

The wierd thing is that it worked 1 time when I launched it, so I doubt something is wrong with the software that I use. The client is fully updated and I simply replaced the old files with the patch files "elementclient.exe" "element.data" "the language pack by dolpa 19" i dont get what the problem might be, any ansers with a possible solution are greatly appriciated! if you wanna know my specs or anything i'll be happy to post them!
Thanks in advance!

try running it unpatched. (re-install)
if it still fails w/o the english patch, then it's your drivers/installation files/etc

if it runs fine w/o the english patch, then the patch you use screws something up

I can run the normal v3 english client, i cant run the patched client(englishpatch by dolpa 19), the problem is that that is the only english patch around <.<

errr wait. hold on. are you trying to patch the My-EN client??!! or did i get that wrong?
make sure you are patching the my-cn client, cause the patch by dolpa is only for My-CN, not for My-EN.

the unpatched My-CN client is version 19 currently, not 3

I'll try to explain, I have the client that you can download from perfectworld.com.my(english closed beta client) v3 and i try to update with theese files: "MY-CN_englishpatch19byDola" "elementclient.exe 18" "element.data" and i put all files where they are supposed to be, the first one "MY-CN_englishpatch19byDola" in C:/Program File/Perfect World so it replaces Patcher and Elements, the 2nd in C:/Program files/Perfect World/Elements and I replace the old one and the 3rd one into element/data, get what I mean? And the client that I use this patch on is the client from perfectworld.com.my and it's fully verified etc..

Oh, so I need to download the chinese client?
in that case, can you link the URL for it? My friends are using that patch with the EN client and they can play on the chinese servers still, with PW v3

well, there might be another patch that works with the MY-EN client, but the patch by Dolpa is for the My-CN version, downloadable here.

You need to update your graphic card driver, most likely. Several people got that same error and resolved it by updating the driver for their graphics card.

I doubt it's the gpu drivers, since he said it works before he patches the client....

I didn't read all the posts, so I didn't realize he was trying to patch the wrong client.

I just made an auto installer for the English Patch for Version 19 of the MY CN client. I tested it with a fresh install of the game and it works beautifully and is incredibly simple to do. You only have to manually move one file...the install.ini file. Then you run an auto installer that will translate the patcher files first. Then you run the patcher and update the client. Once you're done with that, you run the second auto-installer and it applies the rest of the English Patch for you. It's just like any program installer. If you do a fresh install the install.ini file I edited will create the correct folder name so you can tell the difference between the MY CN client and the EN client. You just have to make sure to select Program Files as the install directory. Then you just click those installers. If you already have installed the game you have to rename the folder to Perfect World MY-CN and make sure it is in the Program Files directory and the English Patch auto installer will still work. There is a thread in General Discussion that I started that provides directions and the link to the patch.
