you can equip a sword, but i wouldn't advice it, because their skills and stats are not suitable to do so. you would pretty much suck.
if you like using sword/going warrior, i'd suggest to either go human warrior (defence/dextirity, it's more agile/faster, but a little less hp compared to beast) or male beast (pure HP/strenght, more brute force but slower)
