I highly doubt it has been released in English since the licensing fees it charges for Chinese and Japanese version is astronomical (you can find details in the site quoted above). Either Webzen operate SUN itself for NA/Europe market like NCSoft or lower the price, no third-party would be willing to publish it in English.
The Japanese version will be only released in 2008 and has not decided whether it would be free or play or not.

I have played the Chinese version but the release of the first expansion made it mandatory for players to download a new client again so I would be interested if a English version had really became available.

People shouldn't really expect too much from this game. The China version is infested with bots which Webzen would do anything to fix since it made the number of 'players' appeared artificially high, in order for Webzen for promote the numbers to potential buyers.

Since the English version is just a myth for now (as I expected) I will download the SUN expansion from China and give it another try...

I assume you are primarily playing games with servers located in Philippines Very Happy
I am on Lineage 2 SEA too (at least until they start charging for fees Bad Grin )

Still playing PW-MY a bit myself. Finally managed to play in Fantasy Journey Online Close-Beta (a game I posted about several months ago here in this Off-Topic) However most people who expressed interest in knowing more about this title have since left this forum. Neutral

Well, I couldn't play very much since there's a limit of 10,000 players per server and currently there are only 25 servers opened, and over 250,000 player simultaneous online in the 'closed beta' Bad Grin

Usually when I try to login there's hundreds of people in the waiting queue. Unlike Silkroad Online you can eventually login without fear of being disconnected while waiting but a will be at least several minutes (or longer) of waiting Wink

Once you get in however there is little lag and control pretty responsive considering bad ping times from Malaysia to China (250ms or worse) which is fortunate since you need to face your opponent to hit it and maneuvering around the enemy to hit him in the rear is part of the strategy.

The graphics is realistic (DirectX9 vs DirectX8 in PW) and well-textured, but I think XKwisite wouldn't like the 'stiff' character animation much Laughing

My overall impression is positive but many areas of this game can be further improved. Think

Changing topic slightly .... Very Happy

Tomorrow (Jan 15) is also the restricted testing of Moliyo's free to play Radiant Arcana, which is arguably China's first attempt in creating an 'Western' style fantasy MOPG.

Moliyo claims that RA's character creation allows you to tweak every part of the anatomy up to the dimension of the palm and foot (unable to be verified independently).

In RA, all characters switch among the six (later eight) profession at will after they have learn it. (Experience gain is only award to the active profession). In addition, each character can use abilities from two of his known professions at the same time (called primary/secondary profession similar to GuildWars). Team play is encourage through use of unique combo skills initiated together by multiple players in a party (maximum 5 members).
Special moves like attack while leaping, backstabbing has an effect on combat.

The game can be switched from third person view to first person view (useful when aiming and firing a bow) by pressing a key.

Player housing is available and shared by all characters in an account. Ensuring high loyalty on your butlers and maids will provide additional buffs.

As in the case of other 3D-engines developed in China (including PW and FJO) the look is sometimes odd to players accustomed to more mature and professional (but expensive) game engines (e.g. Unreal 3) used by US and Korean titles.
In Radiant Arcana, where player housing and crafting house-hold items is a highlight, the outdoors scenes look unpolished compare to indoor scenes.

That one looks promising. Any other info about that Arcana thingie ? Smile I really hope that euro players won't have to wait for a year or two for someone to buy license to host that game... especially if they are trying to make a "western" MMO... it wouldn't make sense if it stays in China :P
