Thanks for first real review of the English version of ZU ONLINE I saw in this forum  Glad you enjoy the alpha demo but I think IGG should not have announced the English version so soon, and hype it in US more than even its developers ONWIND does in China. It is impossible to do justice to the game developer's vision for this game and how they mishandled the development schedule in just a few words but let me try First of all, I would assume the English version is equal to the 1st Chinese alpha test. The good news is that many features have been improved after additional tests in the China version. The bad news is we are nowhere even near an open beta yet. A closed beta is planned for mid-Dec 2007. The furor and backlash from waiting Chinese players made upset remarks while waiting for PW English beta here in this forum look pale in comparison. As you are already aware, the game looks good and will look even more better as development progress.  A Summoner player and his petAs for which game is better, is it important to point out that both games' source and influences draw from the same set of Chinese literature however PW used a simplified, diluted version of the (tao) cultivation rules while Zu Online's game rules is more faithful resulting in a richer game play. However, the subtlety of game mechanics and details difference between the two games may be lost on the casual Western players in the same manner that the difference between WOW and AD&D is often lost on Chinese players. The ZU Online development team has made available second graphic novels created by them online. As you can see the quality of game scenes and the novels are striking similar i.e. the game looks good enough to render its own comic  pg. 39, first graphic novel Actual game scene

Cel shading for the win on new MMORPG's these days? First DOMO and now Zu. I must admit,Zu's graphics look rather original though. I've decided to try out Archlord again,seeing as this PW open beta wait has become quite drawn out. Am gonna play an orc sorcerer on the first server (Gaiadon),by the name of 'Mahirim'. Seems ok so far,and is definitely better than RF Online.

I've tried a few games these days but nothing has really catched my attention so far...(when pw will come out ??  ) I've played Fiesta...What a waste of time!I think that game sucks... Tried Archlord and 2moons, didn't like the first, sometimes I still play at the second though is nothing special... Download DOMO but i'm still waiting for an invitation! But what about thi ZU online? It kinda intrigues me... Where can I get a playable version?

Stay away from archlord   It was horrible game with literally no content when it was p2p, now it's free to play and it still has same (no) content. You grind to grind more then you can also grind a lil' bit more, without any apparent reason to do so. It would be somewhat ok if grind wasn't such a pain in the arse, but it is. Once again, stay away from it, it's just another uber-grinder with neat graphics. You must grind for like half year to be able to do actual PvP ( sieges ) which are utterly boring after some time ( after few sieges lol ), servers are horrible, they are offline 50% of time and when they are actually up and working it's impossible to play because of lag. All in all, stay away from it

Definatly stay away from archlord. I never want to go back to it, its like this. You grind for hours to get 1 lvl and after all that grinding that 1 lvl you just wasted tons of time to get doesnt help any. And armor setup is so bad its not even funny, you can make lvl 1 elite armor +10 better than a lvl 20-30 elite armor >< same with weps. Horrible game -_-

Reaaaaly Bad game
All the races (warriors ) use same weapons evry class uses the same skill but with another collor or something
The upgrading is cool but expensive and horrible pointless
Don't ever try the game its not worth playing free lolz

That being said,with the lack of PW this is merely a time-filler until this open beta starts.

I tried ZU online and I must say it has best Quest system ever I seen, and its way better than PW quest system, its only thing I like most in that game.

Hehe well i recently downloaded 9Dragons again because i wanted to continue on my lvl 32 char but i only get 0,3% exp per enemy so i dont feel like playing it  i'll stick to mount&blade and Sim city 4 ^^

Even the Chinese no character wipe closed OB of ZU Online (which is a much later version than the US alpha) will not be launched until 12/12/2007 so you have to wait a while for the US one  PimpinG wrote:

Actually PW don't have flying swords in its alpha version until end of 2005. While Zu Online publicly demonstrated its flying sword at ChinaJoy in July 2005. ZU Online had at least five full character-wipe closed alphas in China since 2005. Due to length of waiting between releases (much like what happened for English OB here in this forum recently) most people lost interest but with a CB date announced and new financial backing, the game would probably go hot in China by early 2008. All MMORPGs using some form of Tao cultivation game mechanics is entitled to incorporate flying swords. The list include Zu Online, Chinese Paladin, DOMO and of course Perfect World And ZU has the highest claim to Flying Swords because of the source material and influence (novel written around the same time as LOTR).

HiHo Game I used to play: ALL apart sports game... I m a great fan of an old fps called Vietcong, and left some days ago Rappelz after a year (lydian Server CM 87...)... Let s see what PW can give me in term of fun and new challenges... Maybe also new friends who knows... Anyway hi @ all if i find the right section i ll write some lines to introduce myself 2 ^^....
