There was a topic about this in The General Forum. I just decided to organize the information and extend it a little more.

Introduction:

Character customization is one of the big attractive features of Perfect World. People spend a lot of time creating, customizing, and perfecting their characters.

Since I'm not playing in any sever right now I'm just waiting for MY-EN to be release. I decided to research and play around with character customization, and I found out that in this topic "there is more than meets the eye".

Contents:

In this guide I will talk about:

- How to "export" your models.

- How to customize beyond the limits the client imposes.

Exporting:

Have you ever made a model of a celebrity or game character that really resemble them? Usually people show of there models whit screenshots. But there is a better way to show of your work to your friends, and that is what I'm going to talk about next.

How to save your model? What happens when you save it?

When you are in character customization screen, in the top right corner you will have a menu like this one:

If you click on Save Model, it will save the model of the character you have in that moment. The name of the save model will be your current date and time. It will look something like this:

My save model is 2007_7_29_10_53_49. When saving a model the game client creates a INI file to a specific folder depending of what race, class and sex is you character. This INI has all the information of proportions, hair styles, colors, etc. of your model but we will talk more about this later.

I have save the model of a YuLing Male character and the INI file appear in "Your PerfectWorld Folder"\element\userdata\character\customize\70

"Your PerfectWorld Folder" is the Folder where you installed perfect world.

Note: You can change the INI file name to what ever you whant.

If you go to: "Your PerfectWorld Folder"\element\userdata\character\customize
You will see a few folders each one is for a specific kind of character, some of them I don't know what are for. Here a list of what i could find out:

Folders

00 - Wu Xia /Male
01 - Wu Xia /Female
10 - Fa Shih /Male
11 - Fa Shih /Female
20 - --------
21 - --------
30 - --------
31 - Yao Ling /Female
40 - Yao Shou /Male
41 - --------
50 - --------
51 - --------
60 - Yumang /Male
61 - Yumang /Female
70 - Yuling /Male
71 - YuLing /Female

If you send the INI file to a friend and he puts it to the right Folder, he will be able to see and edit your model.

As and example put this file Romeo.ini in : "Your PerfectWorld Folder"\element\userdata\character\customize\70
And you will be able to see in YuLing/Male customization screen my Model Romeo.

Manual Customization:

To be continued. I have to go... ill finish this later..

Any comments, Suggestions, or corrections are welcome. Thanks :o
Spelling and grammatic corrections are appreciated to. Embarassed

Wow this is fantastic! Fast way to start playing on the english client!

Was bored out of my mind today: http://www.geocities.com/snowboardwinds (so I made my own website, probably gonna give it up soon anyways xD)

With the stillness of the night, there comes a time to understand. To reach out and touch tomorrow; take the future in our hand.
We can see a new horizon built on all that we have done ,and our dreams begin another; thousand circles 'round the sun.
We go on, to the joy and through the tears. We go on, to discover new frontiers. Moving on, with the current of the years.
We go on, moving forward, now as one. Moving on, with a spirit born to run. Ever on, with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on. We go on

All the info in the guide came from me tweaking the "INI" files, its not really that hard to figure it out by yourself.

mm... the only info i didn't came up with is from all the Posts in this topic. I always tend to give credit for information that is not mine.

I'm not sure this will work with MY-EN client, we will just have to wait for the release and hope they don't change the way that the client saves character models.

P.D. = I'm busy with school work, ill finish the guide tomorrow.

I did, but what is written there concerns full accessible version, when You can go to Your char menu and save it. I can't even log in so I wonder if there are any files maybe, that I could copy or something.

yeah Your comments are indeed very helpful, just like 5 yr old kiddies :/.I've read exactly what is written in this guide and it's nothing complicated to realize it for Yourself that there must be some folder storing files You've saved, gimme a break. I thought that there might be some geniuses on this forum knowing a little more than that. I was asking if anyone discovered where might be stored files/(info about char settings) that was not exactly saved, if they're in some temp files or in some txt or ini file. Because i can't log in anymore and didn't save my chars earlier, but since they were there every time i entered i thought they might be stored somewhere, but i think these informations are stored on the server :/, but i am not sure. As I see none of You got what I was thinking about, and only thing You were capable of was to tell me to read post again and call me blind.....pathetic.

If your character is older than two days, you cannot use the default modify feature. As such, you cannot access the "save model" feature that Sokar's first post talks about and it seems that there is no other way to save your model.

So, I'm also asking along with Lairelosse if there is another way to save your model - if perhaps the same data found in the character\customize may be located in another folder. It seems highly unlikely, but still worth asking, no?

If there is no other way, then this thread is only useful to those having just created a character. From what I understand, it seems that if you change the character after 2 days (through item mall or whatnot), the process is in-game as you must visit a beautician-type NPC. There again, I could be wrong - I'm still learning the game and have no experience with the item mall.

It is great information and hopefully will help individuals save their newly-created characters so that they can easily transfer the customization to the PW-EN client when it is finally released.

No, there isn't.

After 2 days, you need to visit the Stylist with a Disguise item, which you get from a lvl 28 quest or from the item mall.

Thanks for the reply, Noober. Just one more question, if you don't mind me asking. When you have a Disguise item, do you make changes to your character ingame, or does the "modify" option on the character select screen become available? If the second option is the case, then it seems possible for users to get another chance to save their model pending the fact that they are under level 28 or can purchase it through the item mall.
