Dex WX is good for pvp and one on one monster hunt, and you save some money. however a dex WX will suck badly in lvling, and when group lvling(AOEing) doing FB and boss missions, no one will want you. Simply because Axe WX pwns in these areas. At lvl 80 i only saw a couple of dex WX back then, and their golden weapon was selling for so cheap on the market like 800K onli while a Axe one'll cost 4-5m, which is another advantage for you hehe.if you just want to sneak up behind ppl and kill them 4 fun and lvl slowly, then sure why not XD

Depends on what build you're going into. I was a Axe WX, so i put w/e's the dex and str requirement needed for my axe rest all goes into hitpoints, means more hp. So once u get your aoe skills, grab a YL friend of yours u 2 can aoe like crazy.

As far as i know there is any two hand sword, and dual weapons are more damaging then just singles. I dont think you can go dual swords then pole, maybe dual axe and then pole. Because pole is balance and it requires more str, well you its the same for dual axe too, but it just axe is easier to level then dex swords.
