I'll be in if I'm still around by the time the clan is formed. I have a tendency to go through games fast, but I'm hoping to at least get to high level in this game. So yeah you can count me in.

As far as being a council member I have no desire be one. I'll make my opinions heard if I have an idea, but I don't need to be part of the decision making process.

So I apply for joining the clan. However, you must know I use to disappear for LOOONG periods of time, so I can not apply for any important role in guild management.


I think I would like to write some sort of Constitution for this clan (highlighting its relation to the wiki, these forums...). I have done it several times before, although always in Spanish.
I believe a clan needs to have a head and a core. The head is a leader or a leading couple everyone can reffer to. They are models for guildies, and can talk for the whole guild. The core is a council where all members can be heard, and it is what dictates general policies and where everything is voted. A guild with no core is a dictatorship. A guild with no leaders is hard to manage be cause of decisions being too slow, and may lack a bit of "united feeling"

I would not consider to create a council people apply for is the best for our guild, however. In the last game I played, we had a Guild Hall where our guild would come toghether and make a reunion to decide about important matters, every once in a while. All members were welcome, and encouraged to speak. The council was formed by the whole guild, as every one of us who was interested in joining this metting was there. We were all part of the guild after all, and everyone had their own problems. We would talk in turns and use "/wave" to ask the guild leader the permission to talk. It was fun, a pleasure for roleplaying, and useful, as our avatars came to knew each other, in addition to make important decissions.

We have some sort of "elite members" who were in charge of certain aspects of guild development -crafting and economy, trading, military...- and these are obviously respected and should have privileges to talk in these reunions when their specialized topic was under discussion.

I am against an elitist council with only a few members wich takes all the decisions. I have never got this sistem to work without people considering they were being toyed with, asking for more information, and not getting their interests solved. For me, the only way to make it work would be if every guild member had the right to vote, although some members -call them however you want, "senior members", "ancient members"...- could have a bit more weight, if we wanted to go this way.

Anyway, I believe these "Senior Members" (your "Council" ) should be made of:

1) Everyone who is already on these forums, as they have been here even before the clan was created, we know them, and trust each other.
2) New members who have contributed to the Perfect World Wiki in some way.

This way, we would encourage the use and growth of the wikipedia. If any new members wanted to join the "senior member" group, they would have to distinct themselves by contributing to it.

So I won't apply for a place in the Council, because I suggest another way to do things.

Idea sounds great. There should always be a group of people be specially assigned for decisions and events etc. ! As I already said, I am usually not the one who plans raid or wants to lead events etc. So its always great to have a kind of council.

Also I like the idea with people need to contriute to the Wiki in order to earn the status of a council. Sounds fair and would greatly help the wiki to evolve.

And yes Cherel you are right, if there is only one leader it is a dictatorship. But also -> A dictatorship with a great dicator is usually the best political form you could have, sadly there are rarely good dictators out there

Sure too It would be great though if the PW Clan system would have a group system... does anyone know if this is possible (putting member into different groups)? Then we could categorize the people into normal members and councils.

I think I read somewhere that you can have different members at various positions, like general etc...
And that affects what they can and can't do for the clan

As of right now I'm looking for places for a clan base, I'm taking screenshots, and I've found a ton of interesting places, and one that I absolutely fell in love with

I think Clan Wiki, or the Wiki Guild or whatever we're gonna call it has a nice ring to it, but so does clan Wikipedia or the Wikipedia Guild

for the clan name: i agree with yama. wiki is for me a short form of wikipedia and thats the first thing many ppl associate with the word wiki. and for me it sounds bit like vikings (in german "wikinger" )
i think that there will be a better name for us.
