I'm planning on making a Yu Ling character (winged cleric girl)

can someone make a guide on what to put my stat points into, what weapons to use, and what armors to wear.

thanks in advance!

Was bored out of my mind today: http://www.geocities.com/snowboardwinds (so I made my own website, probably gonna give it up soon anyways xD)

With the stillness of the night, there comes a time to understand. To reach out and touch tomorrow; take the future in our hand.
We can see a new horizon built on all that we have done ,and our dreams begin another; thousand circles 'round the sun.
We go on, to the joy and through the tears. We go on, to discover new frontiers. Moving on, with the current of the years.
We go on, moving forward, now as one. Moving on, with a spirit born to run. Ever on, with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on. We go on

Be very careful tho, if you mess up ur stats you'll hate playing cleric.I put only what I needed on STR to get armor and weap and all else on INT. Works well for me, hits really hurt when they get upclose tho.For a healer I do pretty decent damage as it is.In a few more lvls gunna add some to CON cuz HP is really low. Also, think about if you wanna be primarily buff/healer or attack/buff/healer. You can't max out all the skills, so choose carefuly.

I too am making a Yu-Ling as I already have a Yu-Mang. I think I'm going to stick to something like a 4 Int, 1 Str build for the first 10 levels. Side question.....how do you know which server you're on...mine doesn't show names...

--nocebo

Nothing goes with the ebb and flow quite like Nocebo and Placebo...

Nocebo lvl. 25 Yu-Mang
Placebo lvl. 11 Yu-Ling

I went with a little (too much in my case) CON and then INT + STR the rest of the way. Perhaps some random DEX if you plan which equipment you're going to get right away. So your build sounds good to me so far wink

As for which server you're on... I made my own fix for that.
Download this (or edit the file yourself, it works either eway): http://www.sendspace.com/file/dm8ta5
And place it in your C:\Program Files\Perfect World\element\userdata\server folder, overwriting the one that's in there. The names should then show up as 'Gate' and 'Dragon'.

I know there's an on going debate with Yu Lings as to what is best for them, but I'd like some advice without too much drama...

Here goes...

I'm level 17 and have been putting most of my points into Int with some in Str for gear and a bit more in Con for health. I never really had any issues until now. I was twoshotting mobs at level 10, but now they're getting pretty tough. And they hit REALLY hard. From what I've read I have 2 options:
1- I put more points in Con and boost up my health.
2- I pump up the dex and str and go for Light gear.

My questions for you are... As a Healer & Caster would more health be enough for decent survivability? Would I lose more than Magic Defense by switching to Light gear? Is it too late to switch (Would I be able to catch up to the required Dex & Str)?

I don't know much about high level gear.. so any help would be appreciated.

I guess this really depends on your opinion on what you want to do. Mainly because if you were to keep up with the light armor, you'd have to put way too much STR and Dex. Meaning you won't be able to keep up with your Magic weapon gears.

Health is probably much more important later on mainly because p.def doesn't make too much of a difference unless you have a lot of it. Also, you should probably base your leveling later on team play. A lot of Wu Xias and Werebeasts would love to have a Yu ling around. Therefore you would be less likely to be targetted by monsters you'll be able to have your damage and healing abilities take into effect.

Also, if you ever want to acquire your legendary weapons eventually, you'd have to pump up your int to 300 around lvl 100+, which means you will definitely not be able to use your legendary light armor or anywhere close. However, you will be able to use the legendary magic armor which has a ton of stats into MP recovery and MP boosting, making you much more effective in parties. Most of the better equips you'll want would come from the instance dungeons, so if your build isn't really based on team play then I doubt youl'l get invited as often.

In my opinion, I'd go for the con rather than trying to keep up with the latest light armor set.

Just remember though, healers are usually squishy >.< That just means you need someone to help protect you.

For me, I put enough to use level 18 light armor and all other points into int/con. Of course, I was usually wearing light armor 10 levels below me at the best of times. At level 30-ish, I began to switch over to robes because by then, my hp and buffs were enough to handle everything. However, I did put a bunch of level 3 gems into my equip sockets to boost my physical defense somewhat. At level 40-ish, I still retain light armor gauntlets and boots but the rest of my equipment are all robe gear with no sockets but allow me to regenerate my mp faster.

Besides the advantage of having higher physical defense, you also raise your critical rate and dodge rate slightly if you choose to wear light armor. However, you'll suffer from having a weaker attack/heal if you retain using light armor so I suggest using it up to a certain point and then switch to robe gear when you can take on monsters safely without light armor.

Haha thanks for digging up this topic! :P

If I go with light armor, how to the magic attack spells you learn damage? And what weapons would you use?

I only use feather arrow. If the monster has a lot of HP, I cast lightning first then spam feather arrow over and over. I used to use a new weapon whenever possible except for the wand. Right now, I just use my 3 star sword because it's actually better than the next 4 weapons after it at npc.
