Will see in closed beta next month.

Lag is not that much of an issue for me on the MY-EN server. But since they went into full release, the in-game prices on Delphi more then doubled (on average). I just might check this new server out though.

Personally, I think that the malaysian version fails. Why? Simple. - low quality translation that sometimes doesn't make sense - crappy americanized NPC names (nothing against the names themselves, but FFS, it's a chinese myth based game, there is no place for american or any other names in it...) - lag (ok, not actually their fault since the whole malaysian network sucks) - some really easy to fix issues, like the not working announcement page (ingame). The funny part about it, after i fixed that myself, i saw the page still says PW MY-EN is in closed beta. So much for "full release" xD @Aran: When playing an EP, i didn't feel much of lag but then i tried playing a werebeast.... =_= I can't even chain my skills in battle because my char stops attacking for about 2 secs and then activates the skill. I admit that i tried playing on a pserver (with a ping of 16ms from my university's network) and i assure you, the lag on the MY-EN version does make the game a lot worse than it actually is. So i'm keeping my fingers crossed that the PW-NA will have less lag.

Soukyuu now that you mentioned playing a WB char..... I actualy have tried playing with a WB myself, and you are correct: the skill lag on the WB char makes it a hard char to play with. I just hate the thought of abandonning my current EP, and to start training a new char all over again .... just the time I have put into my current char already... To be honest: on the Delphi server I am more concerned about several baboons that have entered the game after it went into full release, then about the game itself. - I have learned to live with the sometimes crappy translations... - lol, do you expect the names to be Chinese on the USA server ? - lag: as said it is not much of an issue for me (maximum lag lately is less then 0.5 secs in skill lag) Anyways..I just might give this new server a try, and if indeed the game is much easier (better) to play on th US server, then I'll move over. Too bad that you can't send in game money etc.. from server to server.

Quote:lol, do you expect the names to be Chinese on the USA server ? yes. if you are telling a russian tale (or insert any other nation here), they won't have american names, will they? I don't expect the names to be written in chinese characters - i can't read them just like most of people outside countries that use them. But i expect them to be in pinyin (the transcription of the chinese characters) I see no difference between using fantasy names most players use and using the chinese transcription for NPC names, there is nothing hard about memorizing them. The reason cubizone staff gave for using americanized names was "they are unfamiliar to the western culture and they will have problems handling them" If they argument like this, they could as well limit character names to american names only, so that players won't have the difficulty of having to memorize the fantasy names of other players. <_< I understand what you mean by not wanting to abandon your character, If i had a high level one on MY-EN i'd felt the same. That's why i never actually played actively after OCB - it was really not worth it with all the lag. Some people are lucky and not affected by it, but for me, it isn't worth it. 400-600 ms delay does make a difference. For example, you have no chance to grab an item if you and a malaysian player simultaneously try to do so from the exact same distance - his/her signal will reach the server faster and the server will give the item to him/her.

Perfect World Entertainment Inc. is a subsidiary of Perfect World Co. Ltd in China (PW developer). This is first time that the Perfect World company ventured outside China on its own - previously it sell the product in other countries as a franchise. I think they realized it is not possible to cater to the American market by relying on Cubinet from Malaysia (lag and other issues) so they are handling it themselves.

I may look at this now..the delay on the MY version was just too much for me to handle. However, I'll also be playing LotRO and Atlantica Online..so we'll have to see. :P
Playing: Atlantica Online GunZ Soon to be returning to LotRO.

If it does, I won't be a part of it..I'll be on the EU servers if anything. Unfortunately (for some), Lord Devil, the original GM of Wikiperia is from Austria so if he returns then it may be on the European servers rather than the International ones.

Oh, maybe I should do the same... But until the European version gets released, I'll probably play on the international servers, most because of the territorial wars, never been a part of it, so now is my great chance.

Well, this version would be ok if there weren't those horrendous prices... 1 cash shop gold = 1$? Yeah right. I'm not paying 35$ for a mount. And it doesn't look like they plan to change it. Oh well, last try for me is the EU version.... @Selpetura: joa, hab ich auch schon gemerkt... deswegen komme ich hierher nur wenn's mir so richtig langweilig ist (so wie jetzt :P)
