I see 4 different colors for players names (not including white of course). I had heard it was a Lineage II style PvP system where:
You hit someone you want to fight; YOU turn pink. The person hits you back showing they agree to fight you; THEY turn pink. At that point neither player will go red if they kill the other, because the fight (while possibly a little forced) was made mutual by them attacking you back.
where as if the person never hits you back (there for not agreeing and/or dying before they could get a counter attack off); YOU go red.
so what is with the different shades of pink and light red colors?

If it is *really* L2's pvp system, then the different shades of red -> light red would be the indicator for your PK status fading

When a white name intiates a pk, as in a forced attack on another white name, his name turns purple. IF he kills u, his name turns pinkish. The more kills he rack up, the redder the name it gets, till its like frigging blood thirsty red lol. If u pk way too much, your name totally disappears and u become nameless. When your name is purple, there is a small chance u might drop stuffs when u die. The chances of dropping stuffs gets higher and higher as u rack up more kills and redden your name even further.

Jeezus, i will get eye cancer from the flashes lol
I wished this game would offer faction open pvp instead of this flagged pvp system, dont like it so much since faction give you much more satisfaction instead of fighting everyone outside of city war area. Well, warhammer is hopefully the future, cant await it.

@sprudel: there are factions, HEAVEN and HELL. You pick at level 89 or something. Also, thats why you join a guild and get into the drama and declare other guilds KoS (Kill on Site) then every time you see someone from the other guild/clan you are bound by honor to fuck them up. But the POSSIBILITY to kill anyone you want is important to keep the gamer from feeling like they are limited in what they can do. This is why most people get pissed at World of Warcraft. You need freedom to kill anyone anytime. For instance... in WoW if you are in a party with a guy that sucks and he just keeps messing up and getting the party killed you can NOT just kill him, that sucks.

I just saw my above post about how crazy that battle looked :/ which is kind of a weird feeling since after my few months on delphi i've seen massive battles. PK is wild on delphi. I have to say ive seen battles with atleast 30 vs 30. I was involved in some of them too. It's pretty fun but it can get hectic.I remember one it was Memo vs. espada, legacy, immortal just on the outskirts of whetstone. People were fighting both in the air and on the ground and we were taking a pretty bad beating after being out numbered and seperated until we were told over vent to go down to the ground and start AOEing. Then the tides of battle turned. That battle made me some quick cash after picking up some green weapons aswell .

Why haven't you engage in battle? Scared? Oh! Maybe you're the cameraman.
