Hello, I'd like to try this game but first of all I'd like to hear what do people already playing it think. What are prons and cons of Perfect World?
Thanks =)

Err well its really a try it for yourself kinda thing but Pros: -Not much of a grind thanks to the quests. -Ingame gold can be used to buy every cash shop item. -Seamless world with great enviroments. -Great guild system -Flying -Swimming -Territory wars are great fun -Free Cons: -People who spend alot in the cash shop can gain pretty big advantages. -the servers hosted in malaysia so you might get some lag/delay

ya depending on where you are though, the Lag/Skill delay pretty much outweighs every single pro in this otherwise great game.

I'm in California. Sometimes, there is lag, but usually, there is none. But when there is lag, its really bad. I've died a couple times because of lag. If you get lag, don't be an archer But its ok, since you dont lose too much exp from dying. I'm lvl 35 and it only takes about 10-20 kills to regain all your lost exp.

do a tracert to goin.perfectworld.com.my and you'll know if you lag. should you get timeouts near the end of the tracert then you're most likely screwed - you'll be lucky if you can connect and the lag will be horrible (1-5secs). many people have this problem and the GMs can't do much about it since it's the ISP's fault and TMnet (the isp) has monopoly over the infrastructure in malaysia. I'm honestly thinking about moving to PW-JP.. i just wish my kanji skills were better >.<

Another strong minus is the horrible English in the game. It's comical early on, but it's gotten to the point where I'll just ask in gchat if the directions/mobs aren't listed in the directive part of the quest log. I don't bother reading the NPC text anymore, which is a shame really, because there's lots of it. You'll get the point eventually, but it can add a lot of extra time and frustration to figure out what some quests want you to do, just because they're phrased so awkwardly. The game also reuses monster models to the extreme; you'll often fight in an area where the exact same monster model can have 5 different names, so make sure to pay attention to the name of what you're killing as you move up in levels. The world becomes just as repetitive looking as the monsters after a while, anything not in a town feels incredibly lifeless and barren. I haven't seen too many people around my level use cash shop items (health and mana hierograms restore your health or mana when it drops below a certain % of your maximum health/mana, as often as every 10 seconds), but if you can afford it, you're pretty much invincible in regular play. Better than the average free Asian mmo, and definitely worth trying, but not likely to be entertaining for more than a few months at most (if played often). I live in Sweden, and I always have lag. Some days minor, some days unplayable. I suggest you follow Soukyuu's advice before you start playing.

Inori-san, the translations are still being worked on by a group of english native speakers. Don't forget it's still in beta, too. About the same monster models, yes it's pretty annoying. But I didn't see a free MMO yet that didn't do that.

Please name a single MMORPG with no reused sprites.
FFXI , Eq2 , Eq1 , Wow , Lineage 2 , any game known to man has same the sprites used. Hell FFXI doesnt even bother to retexture them , you will see the rabbit at lvl 1 to lvl 75. For the love of god , you spend lvl 12 to 35 basically fighting the same crab or goblin.
I ve never had any problem with the translations or finding mobs. I find 99.999999999% of the american/euro gamers to be lazy and stupid.. there are arrows pointing you to the npcs , you can input x,y into the map/npc locator.
Pro: I m partial to the pet system. Everything in the game is good , but the part that makes the game truly special is how well the pets are done. Its pretty uncommon to have a combat pet with decent agro generations , nice selection of skills, and enough tamable pets to make your head spin.
The next part I love is the crafting. It well done, and you can make very useful stuff early on.
---- I d like to thank the MY community and the veterans for being so helpful in game/ out of game.
