I highly doubt you're gonna learn a language just by reading some internet articles.. even buying books won't help much. Your best bet would be to look for a course or maybe a private teacher..

(when i was 6 years) But i think that it only works when you are pretty young. but anyways you could move to japan for some months since then so would you learn japanese because everyone there is talking it. i'm planning on saving money to move to china for a year or 2 sometime

I agree with VJ, a japanese course is probably the best and cheapest way to learn japanese. They are usually provided by universities or "adult education centers" (have it from a dictionary, maybe not a correct term) Ofcourse it's best if the teacher is a native speaker, so that you can learn the correct pronounciation/grammar Going to japan to learn there is a bit expensive, i fear. I'd like to go to Japan someday though.. when i feel ready to communicate in japanese xD I'll just continue with my japanese course for now :P

yea.....most ppl go to the country their learning the language from when theyre confident and want to smooth things out that there still not 100% on. My school didnt have Japanese classes either or i would have taken it. Tried learning from internet, programs ect and learnt the very basics. All i really know is Hirigana a little Katakana and basic sentences, but a quality course would be best

I've had chinese for 1 year so far and I agree, moving to china would be cool.. Shanghai *dreams* xD

of course, but that won't help you too much when you're in their countries.. they don't use pinyin all the time ^^

oh, so it's called pinyin in chinese? it's romaji for japanese. for me, japanese grammar is easy. the only part that is really hard are the kanji, they are pretty hard to learn. hiragana/katakana were pretty easy to learn though. :P

You might be able to find a decent online learning course through some colleges, I'm kinda tempted to do that right now. At the moment, all the Japanese I know comes from watching anime, and correlating words/meanings. That's my favorite way to learn languages really, since it's essentially what you do from birth. You learn speaking before writing, after all.
